Dear supporters, we are sorry that there hasn’t been an update for such a long time on our website. We are both really busy ladies who are trying to hold down paying jobs as well as organising our visits out to Palestine, fundraising and meeting people who want to come with us.
This year we will be a team of 8 people. (3 of them newbies to our project)
Usually, annually, we do something madcap to raise some funds. Last year was Helvellyn, which was sadly aborted due to the sudden death of our dear friend Mick on the hike. However, the money flooded in and we were able to help fund a mudbrick school in his name when we were out in Palestine last year, as well as put on a ‘beach day’ for the kids of Bil’in.
This year, Lisa, Elaine, Rachel and Suzanne are going to climb the O2 arena in London, there the summit is 52 meters (171ft) off the ground.
“There’s no lift, no escalator, and no-one to carry you. This is an experience that gets your blood pumping and your head in the great outdoors. It’s what we call Urban Mountaineering. And at Up at The O2, it’s what we do best.
As one of our intrepid explorers, you’ll ascend all the way to the top of The O2 via a walkway, suspended 52m above ground level. Kitted out with your climb suit, boots and harness you’ll be every inch the urban mountaineer. “
Suzanne is fundraising for equipment for schools in the East Jerusalem area. Here, children are often attacked by settlers, the Israeli army raids their homes on a regular basis and travel to school is hindered. You can donate to Suzanne via https://www.gofundme.com/climb-for-palestine
We really appreciate each and every one of you taking the time to look at what we are doing. For more up to date information, please take a look at our Facebook page.
