Yesterday 5 people went out to tackle Helvellyn, the 3rd highest peak in England. Sadly only 4 returned. Not an hour into the walk, Mick felt ill. The team stopped and were discussing him going back down the mountain, when he suffered a fatal heart attack. I am not going into all the details, but needless to say it was traumatic for every member of the team involved. Yesterday was a really long, devastating day, where Mick’s family will never be the same again.
Mick was a massive supporter of our project, and of Palestine, and there will be a brighter star in the sky because of his light on earth being dimmed. We have decided that all money raised from this walk will go towards a project under Mick’s name in Palestine, a legacy of his out there.
Our hearts and thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. Sleep well Mr Mick, a man with one of the biggest hearts to have ever lived.
